Mom and Dad B Come

Maybe you were thrown off by the title of this blog entry the same way Kara was when she saw it written on the calendar for today. Leave it to Kara to come up with the "play on words" joke in our family without even realizing it!

We were heading out of our neighborhood at 10:15 this morning on our way to the dentist. Kara says from behind me, "Gee mommy, today sure is a big day for you." I said, "It's not that bad Kara. Just driving to Reading for Keaton's dentist, then home, some school, ballet for Kendall...." (I kind of trailed off) Then she insists, "But you have to become something today!" I said "What?" She said "Yeah, you have to become something today....the calendar square said 'Mom and Dad become' on todays's date." My mouth dropped open as I realized what she meant. I had written "Mom and Dad B. come" because that stands for Mom and Dad Bunting come...meaning Keith's parents were supposed to come today for a visit, but won't actually arrive til tomorrow. I could not believe the hilarity of Kara's words. Does she just sit around planning this stuff out, or does it genuinely just roll out of her mouth? I don't know, but I love when it happens! (Refer back to the entry "In God we Trust" for further Kara-ish humor!)

Williamsburg

Keeping to my once a month quota, here I am...October 19th! Well, realistically, we were gone from Oct. 3rd-10th, then had an extremely busy week last week, trying to get back to normal. I do wish to write more, but it seems that the regular needs of life simply fill my days and by nighttime, when I have an hour or two, I am too pooped to think!

Vacation was wonderful! Aside from a few less-than-desirable things that happened our very first day, the trip went off without a hitch. God blessed us with amazing weather, a beautiful place to stay, and 3 trooper-children who rarely complained about the 3 days of history-rich walking and touring that we did. If you ask Kendall, 5, what she liked about Williamsburg, she might say "all the Amish people." Go ahead and laugh! We did! We of course, set her straight. Keaton liked all the family time, swimming and getting to see lots of horses. And Kara...well..."going in the outdoor pool." Ok, so maybe it was pretty cool to be swimming outside in October when all the rest of their friends were back in PA wearing coats.
