6/4/08

June 4th was my 35th birthday. And as God had also planned, Keith's sweet Grandma Rose's last day on Earth. She entered paradise that afternoon, while I was contemplating the 35 years God has given me, and what I have done with those years.

What must she be experiencing right now? I can only dream of it. To think of seeing Jesus' face after a life of 93 1/2 years of hearing, singing, and learning about Him! Grandma Rose was a hard worker, a sweet and thoughtful woman (I even got a birthday card from her on Monday!) and a lover of God. I know she will or has heard the words "Well done Good and Faithful Servant. Enter into the joy of your rest." She always wanted to serve the biggest meal to whoever came...everything made by her loving hands. Once we just called while we were on our way to see her, (she lived in the Pocono area) so she wouldn't have time to prepare anything...and told her WE were bringing the meal this time! And even then, she had things to share that she had made. Hospitable to the "enth" degree. We went to see her just two weeks ago, knowing she was very weak. I'm so grateful God gave us that last time together. She raved at how big our girls had gotten. She always liked to point out to people that she had three daughters, and that we had three girls too. She always said what a nice family it had made, and I couldn't agree more! She told me how much she enjoyed my "letters." What she meant were these blog entries, which my mother-in-law, Jacky, has been printing out and giving to Grandma Rose. Thank you Mom #2 for doing that all this time!

Grandma Rose will be dearly missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters and nieces and nephews. Her husband passed on nearly 40 years ago, so I am sure there will be some sort of glorious reunion in heaven. Tomorrow we travel up to Waymart, PA, for the funeral...and to say good-bye to this Loving Lady. Blessings on you all.
