Marvel of marvels, I'm back in blogland. (Am I beating my three-week lapse?) The reason for the title "Phew!" is because that is exactly how I feel after finally turning in my Homeschooling Portfolio for my second year completed. We live in a somewhat tricky school-district that prides itself on it's quality of education. Great for the kids using the school-system. Not so great for those of us living in it, but not partaking of it. So, I won't tell you how many pages this portfolio was, but let's just say we can use it for self-defense in case a robber ever breaks in! I've decided these yearly portfolios might also serve as back-up to my resume if I ever get back into professional teaching!
Looking back over Keaton's year in 3rd grade was also very rewarding. I could not believe all that we were (by the grace of God), able to accomplish in 180 days. God is so kind to enable us to be doing this. I had not the slightest hint that someday I'd be schooling my own children. All the passion for teaching I have is able to have an outlet...and best of all, the outlet is in my own home. I don't even have to dress for the job and be on the road by 8!
So, although we have a tight schedule this weekend (three major responsibilities on Sunday alone), the girls and I will be heading off to Butler, PA on Monday to spend some time with my parents and our dear friends, the Killeens. Can't wait! Upcoming thrills this next week will include: swimming in my parents "pool" (OK, so it's one they put up and take down every year, but it's perfect for the girls), going to see the new American Girl "Kit" movie that comes out on July 2nd, going to the Killeen yearly Independence Day Picnic and Swimming Bash, and to end up our week, getting to be with the dear people at Whitestone Church next Sunday, where Jamie Maxim will be preaching and Keith will be leading worship. The last time we worshipped with these folks, we ended up at Old Country Buffet and asked for a table that seated 23!! And that wasn't including the highchairs! I can only imagine what heaven will be like when we're all seated at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. But there won't be any highchairs there! Have a great weekend.

Sounds exhausting and fun all at the same time! Congratulations on finishing this year of schooling. When you get back, let's schedule a time to talk about next year!
Have a great week!!
Hope you have/had an awesome week! I missed you on Sunday, but was dealing with some foot pain that hasn't really gone away. Oh, I hate the doctor! Don't make me go! :) We love you guys! A Garner/Bunting gathering is in order very soon, don't you think?
Love,
Julie
